Academic Search Tools in the field of Construction Management
Academic databases and search engines exist to combine the power of web-based search tools with the rigour of peer-reviewed scholarly sources. Unlike a more general search engine such as Google, they eliminate sources which can't be verified, and provide options specifically to group and rank by topic and citation. Different tools function in different ways; a search of the literature surrounding the tools and a comparison of them makes interesting reading in and of itself!
Some resources require a login or subscription. If you are based in an academic institution, you may have credentials from your institution that allow you to access these for free. Some are freely available to all.
The lists below are alphabetical and not exhaustive, but contain tools which are focussed more in the area of Construction Management (as opposed to, for example, Medicine or Arts and Humanities). Inclusion of a resource in the list below does not imply a recommendation from ARCOM.
